NESSA Loves Your Body

NESSA Loves Your Body

Nessa’s all about body positivity, but this October we’re taking it up a notch. 🔥✨ We’re asking our community of warrior mothers to come together in force to smash unrealistic body representations.

Ah, body image. It can be a cruel bitch or your saving grace. We’d normally start a blog like this by stating how women and mothers face a mammoth amount of pressure to conform to a certain body type. But if you’re a woman over the age of about twelve years old, we’re betting you’re already keenly aware of that. To say that women face an impossible challenge doesn’t even begin to explain the problem.

We’re running a campaign throughout October to thrash damaging body ideals once and for all. Nessa is asking our incredible and awe-inspiring followers to share their stories. We want our tribe of mums to send in glorious pictures of stretch marks and scarring, lumps, bumps and waves of cellulite. Think Chessie King sticking her fingers up to the industry, and Bryony Gordon flaunting what her mother gave her. Throughout the month, we’ll share some of these photos on our Instagram feed, for the Nessa community to share in your body’s glory.

Win a body positive treat 🎁

As a badge of honour, the first ten women to send photos will receive a free pot of Nessa’s award-winning Scar Saviour, plus everyone will be in with the chance of winning a Nessa gift set, and some other incredible prizes. Nudea will be contributing an underwear set, so you can feel sassy in the almost-nude. A gorgeous Eudora & Co.Taweret Goddess soy candle will also be gifted, for one lucky winner.

Be bold this October. Celebrate your body and everything it’s achieved. We’re urging you to step out of your comfort zone and share your visuals. However, if body shots aren’t your bag, we’d also love you to send in quotes and stories about what postpartum means for you and your body.

The right kind of influencers ✨

We’re at home in our supportive Instagram community, but we know there’s a whole host of shit online about body image. Let’s point you in the direction of the right kind of body influencers.

Here’s a few words of encouragement from some incredible women we have major crushes on…

“There’s a hellll of a lot of body image bollocks out there… believe in yourself BEFORE you believe in other people’s opinions of how you ‘should’ look. We’re told we’re ‘too big’ by people where we’re the smallest version of ourselves & ‘too thin’ by others when we’re at our happiest size.” - Chessie King

“There is no such thing as ugly. That's a word that doesn't really enter my vocabulary. If there's any definition to being perfect, you're perfect at being yourself.” - Zendaya

“Whatever your body looks like or feels like, it *always* belongs on the beach.” - Bryony Gordon

"When people look at my body and be like, 'Oh my God, she's so brave,' it's like, 'No, I'm not.' I'm just fine. I'm just me. I'm just sexy. If you saw Anne Hathaway in a bikini on a billboard, you wouldn't call her brave.” - Lizzo

“I think, in a way, we've forgotten what a regular body looks like. There are people out there who are struggling, and I'm struggling, and it's okay to come to terms with realizing it's going to be a bit of a journey.” - Chrissy Tiegen
